OLD TOWN

 

1750 Albuquerque consists of many narrow farm plots, giving everyone river access, stretching 7 miles along the shore of the Rio Grande. 

1776 Old Town becomes a collection of 24 houses near a mission.

1825 Trade with Santa Fe causes Albuquerque growth rate to increase.

1849 Gold Rush brings many easterners through Albuquerque to Southern California.  Many of these people remained in Albuquerque.
