Question 4) What concerns do you have about your workspace or the building in general?

-Thinking of raising $ for upstairs ADA restroom across back add-on.
-Office seemed too small at first but now better due to furniture arrangement.
-Hard to keep office cool in summer.

-Workspace: works well but wants it larger.  Wishes space could be more easily warmed/cooled; windows to improve.  Overall it has what he needs.
-Building: climate control, energy efficiency (priority)—lights, heat.  Wiring is 1950s—doesn’t seem to code.  Good, solid building that is unique to campus.
-heating in winter <$700 (not bad for the bldg.)
-need outdoor lighting, accessible restroom on main level
-Breaker box access only outside by key,
-assuming wiring is copper or/and aluminum (not good)
-plumbing is old.
-Non-cosmetic stuff (the stuff you can’t see) is of most concern.
-Need new windows and need wall insulation.
-Need upstairs storage.

-Want deck in front of meeting room windows for better access/image.

-Office too cold
-Wide range of temperature in the winter
-Gets a draft from the back door (main entrance from parking lot—used a lot)
-Summer—basement always cooler (advantage)
-Downstairs electric lighting is poor.  Almost always need lights on for downstairs activities.
-Asbestos ceiling—remodeling must be done carefully and laboriously.
-Low insulation values in the walls.  Her window is very poor—lots of infiltration (lots of thermal leakage).  Put up curtains and can feel difference from those alone.

Question 5) How comfortable is your workspace?

-Comfortable—good task lighting.  Increasingly important to have light from behind to read well as you get older.

-Workspace: not bad—furniture seems made for women (too small).  Doug is 1st male to work in the space—“girly space”.
-Wants more space (minor, and no way to do it now).  His chair he bought/donated.
-Anything bought/donated by Doug makes his workspace friendlier, easier, and more comfortable to work in.

-2-3 with out space heater (on scale 1-7)—relies fully on space heater to stay comfortable

Question 6) What temperature differences (if any) have you noticed
            - In the building as a whole
            - In your workspace

-Thermostat predicated by coldest person.
-Heat travels upstairs from below.
-Too hot @ times during winter in other parts of bldg.

-Throughout day, not much
-Building gets cold w/ constant cold hard wind but not much—lots of protection from site.
-Auto-timer for upper level thermostat (bought and donated)—fireplace rarely need be used.
-Great room stays at 68-69 degrees between 6A-9P
-Other thermostat (downstairs) pump-mounted—even/steady

-Upstairs is warmer
-When boiler is running, coffee house is warmest
-Workspace—2nd coldest office in the building; second to the little back office behind the coffee space.

Question 7) Do you notice any difference in the air temperature where the boiler pipes are exposed?

-Not a huge difference, no.

-Bible study, worship, movies, PBS religion and ethics newsweekly, Friday socials, occasional business meetings.

Question 9) How do you feel about the daylighting in the upper level meeting space during mid-day?

-Sufficient, good but 2 problems: 1) lack of good curtains; too much natural light at times through windows.  2) too much light for digital presentations.

-Want more daylighting, but not bad as-is.
-Would like to see more VIEW windows—windows as “eyes of the building”.  Right now, they’re squinting.

-Lighting is pretty good during the day.
-West facing wall has direct sun later in day; a bit uncomfortable (that’s why the banners are there)

Question 10) How often do you need to use the lights in that space during mid-day?

-Always on—needed for making the space inviting and attractive.
-Lights are on but dimmed.

-Lights give appearance that the room is occupied—even during the day.

-Lights are used often but only for ambient lighting (mostly unnecessary).
