Extra Credit Projects

These projects relate to the topics covered in the course and are intended to help develop your perception of ECS-related issues. You may work alone or with a partner on these projects.

Extra Credit 1 Microclimate Observations Lecture Third Monday in September
Extra Credit 2 Wall Section Analysis Lecture Third Monday in October
Extra Credit 3 Shading Device Analysis Lecture First Monday in November
Extra Credit 3a Glazing Tour of Campus Lab Monday after Thanksgiving
Extra Credit 4 Thermal Performance Critique Lab At the final exam

 Each project is worth a maximum of 5 points. Each student may attempt up to 5 extra credit projects with a maximum of 15 extra credit points to be added to the Lecture Grade and 2 extra credit projects with a maximum of 10 points to be added to the Lab Grade. 

The grading scale is as follows:

5 pointssuperior work, goes beyond simply answering the questions
4 points
satisfactory, competent work
3, 2 or 1 points
flawed workincomplete, inaccurate, intellectually sloppy, etc.

No extra credit projects will be accepted after 11:20 p.m. on the date due—no exceptions.
