Groups Overview (Student Help)

Groups in Canvas allows you to work in small groups with your classmates to collaborate on assignments, projects, and presentations.

• Access course-specific groups directly by clicking on People (located in the left menu of the course).
• Click on the Groups tab to see a list of all groups for the course.
• Click the Arrow next to a group name to view its group details.
• Click the Visit link to view the group home page.

Group Tools

• Assignment Submissions are similar to regular assignment submissions. However, your instructor may require one submission for the entire group or request that each group member submit the assignment individually.
• Discussions allow you to create and participate in discussions with members of your group.
• Collaborations allow you to create and edit shared documents with members of your group.
