Time Zone in Canvas

The Canvas Setting default time zone is Pacific Time (Moscow's time zone). However, Canvas allows the instructor to change the default Time Zone for a Course and also allows students to change the default Time Zone for their User Account.

The Device being used to view due dates also affects time zone as follows:

• Due dates viewed through a browser are based on the course and individual's Canvas time zone settings (where Pacific Time is default unless changed by the end-user).
  
  
• Due dates viewed through a mobile app display based on the mobile device's current time zone (automatically determined via cell tower).
  
  

--> Why are Assignment Due Dates Fluctuating for me by 1 day?
It all comes down to time zone. When an assessment is due at midnight in Moscow, Idaho, that same assessment is due the next day at 1:00am in Boise. As outlined above, due dates for you can differ when viewed through a mobile device vs a computer's browser.
